Mac Maharaj met with us on Thursday, 9/27 to help us deepen our understanding of South Africa. Mr. Maharaj was actively involved with the ANC. He spent time with Nelson Mandela imprisoned on Robben Island. Mr. Maharaj helped negotiate the end of Apartheid and held several government positions following its collapse. He is currently teaching at Bennington College and involved in high level Iraq peace negotiations.
